The world’s most famous cycling race, Tour de France, will see a dramatic end on the 29th July as riders enter Paris to complete a lap of honour across the Champs-Élysées with one rider entering Paris victorious in the yellow jersey. The Bier Palace will stage a very special finale on Sunday 29th July, seeing cycling enthusiasts, adventure seekers, comrades and families alike invited to ride the 22km Tour de Manchester route around the city in line with our dear chums over in France.

Inspired by the classic cycling routes of continental Europe, we’ve created the Tour de Schloss route, an exclusive 22km cycling route designed for all ages and abilities showcasing our fair city.

Schools out and we have the perfect day activity for the whole family to enjoy. To cycle the Tour de Schloss route, simply download Strava and join the Albert’s Radlers cycling club which will act as your cicerone, guiding you as you enjoy the illustrious cycling route in the great outdoors.

On Sunday 29th July, participants from all walks of life are invited to cycle the Tour de Schloss route to pay tribute to end of the Tour de France, departing from Schloss at 9am. Remaining true to classic cycling culture, sausage sandwiches & espressos will be handed out at 8:30am before riders depart, plus a free bike servicing pop-up and ice-creams for all participants.

Upon your return, reward yourself with a refreshing radler on das haus (shakes for kids). Albert’s Schloss will be transformed into a cycling hub with the beautiful 1987 Gold Plated Raleigh Centenary bike on display, plus exclusive cycling pop-up from Rapha and Tour de France on das big screen. The Bier Palace will also have outdoor railings for parking bikes, allowing all riders to enjoy a leisurely post-ride afternoon feast.

To end our cycling month with a royal bang, we have a one of a kind gold plated Raleigh Centenary bike from 1987 belonging to Phil Jones MBE, Managing Director of Brother Cycling which will be on display at our haus from 27th – 29th July. When Raleigh turned 100 years in 1987, they manufactured 200 limited edition racing cycles with the frame plated in 24k fine gold. We will proudly display this iconic bike, showcasing a classic Raleigh design at the Schloss.

Taking inspiration from cycling clubs touring The Alps, Albert’s Radlers is made for those looking to embrace the great outdoors whilst clocking up cycling miles – all for a chance to be featured on the Clubhaus leaderboard.

Each week the member who rides the most miles will be rewarded with a brunch for four, while all other members featured on the leaderboard will receive a Schloss radler of their choice & wurst on the haus – wunderbar!

Managed by Strava, members download the Strava app and join the ‘Albert’s Radlers’ to record their mileage. Winners will be announced every Monday!

We’ve also launched an exclusive competition for the best photo along the Tour de Manchester route, with a trip to Prague for two people including flights, B&B and brewery tour up for grabs. To enter, riders are asked to tag their route photo on Instagram with #TourdeSchloss and #grandtourmcr from the 8th – 29th July.
